Artist Statement:

These pieces are about relationships. An unconventional relationship can appear unusual or strange, but somehow the connection it holds reveals something not obvious, an unknown. The work references the female body in its curvy flesh, veins carrying life’s blood; growing and giving life. The sculpture and its clear flexible tubing mimics a feminine soft-ness, wrapping itself through pieces of metal hardware that hold it tight, and in place, with no choice. The tubes are cages: stuffed, punctured & stuck, constricted & hung. The hidden surprises are confined while being held by an odd elegance. In each piece there is a silent game of hide and seek that tantalizes anyone who dares to look. A marriage of these seemingly strange objects dance a seductive yet dangerous tango. Each reveals a consistent underlying truth.
